What We Believe
Word and Spirit Feasts is a generation of hungry people God is raising with the quest of experiencing intimacy with Jesus and His miracle power, and also to take this experience to the world. Jesus Christ is our lovely Saviour and Bridegroom
1. The Word of God
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God, given for doctrine, reproof, correction and training in righteousness. We believe in the authority of scripture as God’s final word on every matter.
2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21
2. The Trinity
We believe in the ONE Triune God who is in THREE Persons, God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. They are glory coequal and majesty co-eternal.
Genesis 1:26, John 1:1, 1 John 5:7
3. Salvation
We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith in Jesus Christ. Salvation is Christ and all that He brought us through the Finished Work of His death, burial, and resurrection.
Ephesians 2:8-10, John 3:16, Romans 10:9, Acts 4:12
4. Intimacy with God
We believe that God created man for intimacy and close fellowship with Himself. As such, we recognise that our highest calling is to know the Lord intimately, personally and deeply and to become like Him.
John 17:3, Philippians 3:10
5. The Great Commission
We honour the last recorded words of the Lord Jesus before His ascension as our greatest command, to make disciples of all the nations. Therefore, we are fully committed to raising disciples who can also raise disciples, that the Church of the Lord Jesus might be a fitting Bride for the Lord at His return.
Matthew 28:18-20, 2 Timothy 2:2
6. Evangelism
We believe in the faithful proclamation of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ – His death, burial and resurrection – that men might believe in Him and be saved.
Mark 16:15-16, Acts 1:8, 2 Corinthians 5:20, Acts 20:24
7. Love
We believe in the potency of God’s love. “We love because He first loved us.” We believe that the more we know and receive God’s love for us, the more we are empowered to love God and others. By this, all men shall know that we are truly His disciples.
John 3:16, 1 John 4:19, John 13:34-35
8. Service
We believe in the faithful use of our gifts and abilities, both natural and spiritual, in the service of the Lord Jesus and His Church. We believe that every believer in Christ has a divine assignment from the Lord which must be discovered and fulfilled. As such, we must serve the Lord in His predetermined field of labour and according to His prescribed pattern for each one of us.
Ephesians 2:10
9. The Holy Communion
We believe in the Holy Communion, of which we partake in remembrance of the Lord’s death. We believe that by partaking of the bread which symbolises His broken body for us, we reap the full benefits of health and healing, and by partaking of the wine which symbolises His blood shed for us, we reap all the blessings of the New Covenant.
Matthew 14:22-24, 1 Corinthians 11:23-25
